Fiberglass insulation is a product that consists of fine glass fibers and is what you will see in most homes. Fiberglass insulation yields an r-value of about 3.4 per inch. This insulation is the most common in homes. It can also be installed in different forms (batts, loose fill, and rolls) The r-value will vary as different manufacturers will produce these products in different densities which affect their r-value.
